  18. Could it be a bad cable which just happens to work now that you
  19. have (probably) moved it a few times... I had somehow similar
  20. problems a while ago (my system didn't work if CD-ROM was as the
  21. 1st drive) and after long search I noticed that one line of
  22. my self-made SCSI cable was broken.  It happened to work (i.e.
  23. those wires were in touch) when I put a HD in that place but
  24. when I put a CD-ROM there it didn't work (probably because the
  25. CD-ROM is larger and the cable was bent more).
